Yard Sweepers
I have this lawn sweeper that is very similar to the one in the image above made by the Parker lawn sweeper company but it’s called the Parkerette. Unfortunately it’s so old that most of the bristles are gone lol. When our pecan tree leaves fall in November it makes a giant mess on our lawn, walkway, street, neighbors yards etc lol.
So I was out there today with my Parkerette which still works by the way, not as good as I’m sure it did in 1959 but it still works. I have to use the rake and rake most of the leaves into a lane then go over it with my lawn sweeper then bring it over to the pile and dump it to be put into the green can later.
Unfortunately my biceps and back are killing me from all the raking that I was able to do. We have a big lawn to clean up lol.
Ok so here are the pictures. The first picture is of the actual lawn sweeper. You can click the image for a larger view but hit back to come back here. The second image is a close-up of the name on the front and the third is a picture of the bristles so you can see why I need a new one lol. It’s pretty bad.
Now I didn’t know this but when I did my search to find the old ad you see at the very top I also found out thatSears still sells them (not this brand but another). I saw one at the local sears during the summer but it had an attachment for a riding lawn mower so I didn’t know they had a hand pushed lawn sweeper as well. Unfortunately it’s $100 which is a bit much considering I’d only be able to use it after fall. That is unless I have to mow the lawn with the weed whacker, then I’m sure I’d have to use the lawn sweeper to sweep up the grass clippings. Well, here is the picture of the more modern lawn sweeper that I’d love to get my hands on.
