
The resignation came two weeks after Yahoo appointed Scott Thompson as the new CEO.
In a letter of resignation to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yahoo, Yang said that this step in order to secure "other interests outside of Yahoo." He was enthusiastic about the appointment of Thompson as the new executive leader.
