In last days of 2007 I visited our country North neighbour Estonia. Route: Riga - Ainazi - Parnu - Tallinn - Johvi - Tartu - Valga/Valka - Valmiera - Riga. Trip longtitude 990km. Adventure realised by car. It is not the cheapest way (fuel ~120$), but if you tripping by own car then you ar 100% independent and that is very good if you are tripping with your sweetheart. I think all who have experience will agree with me. :) If you didn't have idea how to amaze your darling then you can check in the WWW (f.e. in Google) some nice routes in your country or neighbour country and realise it. Good present. Starting from 21st December of 2007 Latvia and Estonia (not only both countries, but there are 24 European countries with no borders now) didn't have passport control on borders, because of Shengen aggrement. Simply to visit neighbour country. Always there are snowy in winters, but few days ago (27th-30th December) there are temperature about +2C. Hot winter :) First night we stayed in small hotel in Tallin (capital of Estonia). We go to Old Town to look at some of architectural prodigys and after this have a meal in Sveijki beer restaraunt. Nice city. Very light in evening. Christmas and New year feeling was here. Next day we go to small city Johvi it is on North - East side of Estonia. Nice place where to stay is Wironia hotel - nice Swedish table in breakfast, good apartments. In the same place are very nice pub with Estoninan Saku beer and very tasty meals and good prices - meal and beer for one person costs about 10$. Why we stay here? Near of this place are Ontika with beautiful sea. Photos says all. After this long way to home with stops near at the Peipus lake, Tartu - beautiful city, Valga/Valka one city in two countries. Sorry that photos are only few, next time I will try to work harder on it :) Nice trip, I suggest to you also make something like that. We live once, enjoy it. ;) |
