Stiffer than diamond



A material that is stiffer than diamond has been created by mixing particles of the mineral barium titanate and molten tin. Diamond was previously the stiffest material known.

The new material was made by a team from Washington State University and Wisconsin-Madison University, both in the US, and from Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany.

Asus might stop producing notebooks

Asus might pass its notebook production to branch company Asusalpha Computer.The main reason for that is Asus partners pressure. Asus carries out orders for such big companies as Dell, Toshiba and Apple. Nevertheless, Asus own brand recognition has grown, which resultated in competition with company's clients.Sony and Apple have already turned Asus down, passing orders to Foxconn Electronics and Quanta Computer. Dell has even demanded that Asus gives notebook production to the branch company by 2008.

Blair takes Brittish army away from Iraq

Great Britain is going to reduce Brittish army contingent in Iraq by the May 2007 down to 4500 soldiers. Toni Blair is about to announce 3000 Brittish soldiers withdrawal from Iraq. Thus, Brittish army contingent is going to be reduced. The army is going to be dislocated to a military base, 8 kilometeres away from Basra. Only 600 people are going to stay in Basra.
