Cuban television has shown the first pictures for three months of Fidel Castro.Castro, 80, was seen standing during a meeting with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, which was said to have taken place on Monday. He appeared thin and tired but stronger than three months ago.Mr Castro have not been seen on public since July.
Analysts expect a 0.1 percent rise when the consumer price index for January is released at 8:30 a.m. today. The CPI was up 0.5 percent in December.Inflation in 2006 eased to the slowest pace in three years as consumers finally got some relief on energy and medical bills. In further good news, inflation-adjusted wages rose at the fastest clip in nearly a decade.
