Unlock Your iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.3 With Ultrasn0w / Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4

As reported yesterday, iH8sn0w has released a new version of Sn0wbreeze which has particular appeal for unlockers. Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4 includes ultrasn0w unlock, which will allow you to unlock (old basebands) iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.3. Here, we’ll show you how to do that.

Remember:

• Ultrasn0w unlock for basebands 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00 is supported by Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4
• Ultrasn0w will not unlock basebands 02.10.04, 03.10.01, 04.10.01, 05.14.02, 05.15.04
• You may lose your GPS if you upgrade your iPhone 3GS baseband, for unlock, to 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack
• Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4 is only a tethered iOS 4.3 jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Ultrasn0w unlock for iPhone 3GS requires that your iPhone 3GS is jailbroken with 6.15.00 baseband

Step 1:

Pr-requisites:

Download iOS 4.3 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Download Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4

iOS 4.3 jailbreak instructions for Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4 are exactly similar to the previous release. Here’s how to jailbreak iOS 4.3 tethered for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch using Sn0wbreeze

Step 2:

Once you’re done with the jailbreak, and want to unlock your iPhone on the above mentioned basebands, head over to Cydia to download Ultrasn0w 1.2. Here’s what you need to do:

• Fire up Cydia on your iPhone
• Tap the Manage tab at the bottom
• Now tap Sources

Then, tap on Edit followed by Add. Cydia will now prompt you to add a URL source. If you haven’t already added this, type in http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com and tap Add Source to add this repository.

Cydia will now update your sources following a series of automated steps.

Once the installation finishes, search Ultrasn0w 1.2 in Cydia and install the application. Ultrasn0w 1.2 will automatically unlock your iPhone, on the above mentioned supported basebands, to work on any carrier.

Step 3:

All you need to do now is to restart your iPhone. Once done, your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS will now be unlocked on iOS 4.3

Do remember: If you jailbreak your iPhone using PwnageTool for Mac, then it will not be unlocked as Ultrasn0w fix currently works with Sn0wbreeze for Windows, only.
