Authorities in Shanghai are evacuating about 200,000 people to safer areas as the typhoon Wipha approaches.
Wipha is forecast to hit south of Shanghai on Wednesday morning after sweeping past Taiwan.
According to TDRC (Taiwan's Desaster Relief Center) One worker was killed and another injured when scaffolding collapsed at a highway construction site in the city.
"The typhoon is very likely to develop into the worst one in recent years. We are still observing it. It's hard to say at this moment," said an official at Shanghai's meteorological bureau.
