tmj jaw pain

My jaw pain from TMJ / TMD is that brings me to tears. Help?

I've had pain for three days, is gradually getting worse. My jaw is swollen, my cheeks and under chin swollen also. The pain has now moved to my ears and my neck. It feels like so much pressure. I've been doing stretches to loosen the muscle and also using a cold compress on my jaw. I can not get into my dentist until Monday, but the pain much more than just wait until then. I do not think I can wait. What should I do? any suggestions?

Call the dentist after hours number and let them know what is happening. Maybe you can do on a Saturday or at least give a better pain medication.
