The west has problems but to say the middle east is full of only fun loving sensible people is ridiculous, we don't stone our citizens to death. To say our women are sold is true and is deplorable, but to hide your woman, to control them fully, to not allow them to drive, honour killings in families, killing women because they have been raped. Now that is wrong.

Give me a break, the west surely has massive problems, especially the way we think we are superior to the rest of the world. But doesn't this page prove you have the same problems. And don't tell me our human rights records are worse than the middle east cos that is rubbish.

They use un-American as a perjorative term over there, to denote some sort of disaffection against patriotism. But over here in Europe, we use American as a perjorative term. I don't need to explain this joke to European people, and Americans can just go ahead and figure you don't come out of it well

Havvy, have you ever seen coverage of the West by those who control the media in other countries, ESPECIALLY the middle east?? Every country and government has its own form of propaganda, not just the evil evil West....
usually the media shows the most crappy or the best places, so you can't really judge a country by what the media shows you. All they want is rating after all
First, this is an excellent example of Spin. US media is a propaganda machine for the state and it is frightening. Spin is not the greatest documentary made, but it gets the message across.
I personally can not wait for the day when Socialism awakens in the west. It's time for governments that care about the people rather than the companies
The Middle East hates the WEST. The U.S. takes the brunt of it because it does the muscling. The Middle East has been raped and pillaged by the West for nearly a century, look it up. Europeans are hypocrites as well. Like Joe who commented here, he disapproves of Americans for its crimes.
