There's nothing on Earth that is more deadly than a volcano. A big volcano eruption can change the planet's climate causing an ice age. Imagine, one big bang and that's it, no more humanity.

Chaiten Volcano put on a great show with a huge column of ash and as is the ash towered in the sky it ionised their which produced giant forks of lightning. A volcano erupted on a small island of Jazirt Atta-Ir 85 miles off the coast of Yemen Sunday evening. A NATO fleet en route to the Suez Canal witnessed the eruption. According to the Canadian Forces website "HMCS Toronto is currently conducting a search-and-rescue operation, at the request of the Yemen coast guard, to locate nine people believed to be at sea." The Yemeni news agency SABA confirmed the eruption and said a military garrison on the island is being evacuated.The

Terrestrial volcanoes appear to have contributed to the rise of oxygen in Earth's atmosphere more than 2 billion years ago. The atmospheric shift, which allowed life to flourish, had long been attributed to ancient bacteria. The change in Earth's atmosphere occurred about 2.5 billion years ago. And the bacteria theory has long been problematic, because fossilized cyanobacteria first appeared 200 million years earlier. Scientists wondered why they took so long to fill the atmosphere with oxygen. The answer appears to be that underwater volcanoes were undoing their work. To put the story together,
