| This should be filed under the humor section but this short anecdote describes very well what politics is. I think most of you would agree. A little boy goes to his dad and asks, “What is politics?” Dad says, “Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I’m the breadwinner of the family, so let’s call me capitalism. Your Mom, she’s the administrator of the money, so we’ll call her the Government. We’re here to take care of your needs, so we’ll call you the people. The nanny, we’ll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we’ll

| As i said before it was wrong to recognize Kosovo's independence and there would be consequences to the rest of the world. Well here they are. Russia has announced that it would establish legal links with Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Georgia has already called an emergency security meeting saying Russia is annexing their territory. Georgia's foreign minister is calling Russia's move "de facto annexation" Now, I couldn't care less about Russia annexing Georgia's regions as far as I know these 2 regions want to be independent and want to join the Russian Federation. Plus many of

| This is not the first time I've posted on food shortages , and judging from this video it won't be my last either. In fact I've been ranting about this for a few years now and some agree, but some of my more affluent fellow Americans think it's not a big deal, or that I'm not shopping in the right place.Think back a couple of years - how much has your favorite pizza gone up in price? I know it has to be at least a dollar more, now that cheese has more than doubled since then. And how about if you want your pizza delivered? You don't think they've been adding a surcharge to compensate

| This week was full of political events. Of course the biggest news was NATO summit in Bucharest. During the summit Bush struggled to invite Ukraine and Georgia to join the alliance thankfully some European leaders has enough balls and brains to say "no". Also Poland and the Czech Republic agreed to set up interceptors missiles and a radar dish on their territory - these countries are paid enough to keep their balls small and brains inactive. As you know both of these decisions are fiercely opposed by Russia. And I'm beginning to think they are doing this on purpose. It seems Bush wants

| Through my life I actually lived in the differenet style of the states: Eastern Socialism, Western Socialism, and American Capitalism. I like it here the most, as a matter of fact. And when the elected official from my state California plans to take part of my retirement to fund those who never worked for terms of everyone should be equal, it reminds my the nice communists slogans: take by force from rich, and give away to poor. I am not rich. I am working 12 hours every day, after that I am going home to study in online University at night to be able to work more effeciently. To be able to get

| Now, this is actually very interesting. I've been observing the news regarding this for some time. The official version is that the satellite has malfunctioned and now represents a danger to us. They say It is carrying highly toxic rocket fuel. That was the official version which I don't believe for a second. I find it strange that the U.S are ready to spend $60 million just to shoot down a satellite. The more believable version is that the U.S want to test their anti-satellite weapons just like China did last year. This is actually what China is saying about this.Russia is also not very trusting

| U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates spoke in Munich Conference on Security Policy he urged European nations to commit more troops in the fight against extremism in Afghanistan. He complained that the U.S, Canada and Britain are doing most of the "work" while countries as Germany, France, Italy aren't doing enough. Gates said global Islamic terrorism is a threat to them all and listed the recent terror act in London and Madrid and Nato members must share the burden of Afghanistan.Pardon the comparison but it looks like Dr. Frankenstein can't handle his monster. in the 70s the United

| So far we are hearing of 300 dead, thousands displaced and things will probably get worse before getting better in Kenya. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), attempted to gather to protest only to be reminded by the Pro-Government police what they think of Freedom of Assembly. Let's see what happens on January 8th, when the ODM attempts to gather againLet's not forget that this goes beyond political lines as economic and Tribal tensions have been flaring up as well. And what will the West do? Australia might do something, since 600 of its citizens are now trapped in what is basically

| I have always felt that when it comes to political polls, it's the tail wagging the dog. If anything, the poll results splayed on CNN every day are a huge influencing factor on how people vote. Polls this early in the race do not show, in my opinion, who people may be voting for - instead it TELLS people WHO they should vote for. In my mind there is no better example of this than the campaign of John Edwards. He talks the talk, looks like he belongs in a wax museum, and made millions as an ambulance chaser. Can you trust this guy? Can you trust any lawyer? He comes off as slimy and manipulative.
