| U.S. President George W. Bush signed a bill Tuesday which removes former South African President Nelson Mandela from a U.S. terrorism watch list. Mandela and other members of the African National Congress (ANC) have been on the list because of their fight against South Africa's apartheid regime, which gave way to majority rule in 1994. The bill, passed the U.S. Congress last week, gives the State Department and the Homeland Security Department the authority to waive restrictions against ANC members. | Al Gore and the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for their work raising awareness about global warming. The Nobel committee cited them "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change." The IPCC and Gore will each get a gold medal, a diploma and a share of $1.5 million. The award ceremony will be held December 10 in Oslo, Norway.
