Why Am I Still Here?

I've noticed that the content here at YouSayToo has gotten awfully "fluffy" that last few months. Real news stories and opinions are being overwhelmed by what for the most part is garbage. Hey, it's not the poster's fault - we are all trying to get those google ad impressions and so most of my fellow members are just giving the public what they want. I'm just surprised at how popular some of this stuff is, when I always considered the international community more concerned about "real" issues.Members that tackle real issues don't seem to post as much anymore, some no longer post at

Celebrities with Eating Disorders

Alanis Morissette Canadian singer Alanis Morissette has admitted that she has struggled with anorexia and bulimia between the ages of 14 and 18 when she was trying to break into the music business. She wrote the song "Perfect" (from Jagged Little Pill album), inspired by her eating disorder recovery. Morissette said at the time her weight jumped up and down between 15 and 20 pounds. She would barely eat for months at a time, subsisting on Melba toast, carrots and black coffee."Constantly dizzy," she recounts about once having nothing to eat one day while a person

I've got a hedgehog and I'm afraid to use it.

I laughed very hard when I read the headline of this story. Ok, here it is "Hedgehog Used in Non-Lethal Assault." Apparently a man in New Zealand, William Singalargh threw a hedgehog at a 15 year-old boy. Now he will be charged with assault. Who needs to see stand up comedies when you can read news articles. The guys at CNN and Sunday's Herald actually have a sense of humor. The title of article in the Herald was "Raise your hands and step away from the hedgehog." Oh if you are interested in reading the article here it is - CNN

NATO summit

This week was full of political events. Of course the biggest news was NATO summit in Bucharest. During the summit Bush struggled to invite Ukraine and Georgia to join the alliance thankfully some European leaders has enough balls and brains to say "no". Also Poland and the Czech Republic agreed to set up interceptors missiles and a radar dish on their territory - these countries are paid enough to keep their balls small and brains inactive. As you know both of these decisions are fiercely opposed by Russia. And I'm beginning to think they are doing this on purpose. It seems Bush wants

Fox News is lying to you

If you read what I write here you know I don't believe in things said on the news. I believe or rather know that countries (or even the whole world) are controlled by a few very wealthy and powerful people. I believe in democracy but in order for a democracy to function properly people have to be interested in politics and be knowledgeable about political topics. Otherwise people can be easily manipulated by the media. The media is a tool, they show you what you need to know and don't show things you don't need to know. Is there no Justice?

I was so upset and livid yesterday about the news report of the two women who hosed down a small children. Yesterday, the mother of the 2 year old toddler turned herself in. She claims the child had a tendency to throw tantrums and usually she would put her child in time out or spray her in the face with water from a spray bottle to calm her down. Apparently, she had to improvise. No charges are pending! WTF! I'm sorry but I think what she did was unacceptable and she deserves to received the same treatment she dished out.. It seems to me she was having a tantrum herself. Wah, wah, wah,

Four episodes of Friends cost one man $22,000

A woman used her husband's Vodafone mobile phone to download four episodes of Friends. The download was interrupted when the man left his home in the UK for a business trip in Germany. As the plane landed the download continued. Upon returning to the UK Vodafone alerted him about the huge data charge in the mail. Based on a punishing out-of-network rate the four episodes cost him $22,000.This isn't the first time phone companies exploit their customers this way. The EU commissioner has given phone companies until the first of July to justify the exorbitant cross-boundary charges.

I just love the News

There's just so many new things you can learn from CNN. When reading CNN news I get the feeling of impending doom. Every news article about China, the Middle East or Russia is presented like "OH MY GOD! THEY ARE GOING TO KILL US!!!" Now, I know there are sensible people out there who don't believe everything that CNN writes but what scare me is that there are many people out there who do. Can you imagine what they think about the rest of the world. Today, CNN wrote a fantastic article called "Russia Threatens Force Over Kosovo". It looks like CNN is trying to keep everyone terrified.

Vladimir Putin will aim Nuclear Missiles at Ukraine

Russian president Vladimir Putin has warned Ukraine that he will aim nuclear missiles at it if Ukraine joins Nato and accepts the U.S missile shield on its territory. Russia wasn't happy about the expansion of Nato into former soviet countries - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and especially unhappy about the anti-missile defense sites in Eastern Europe: Poland and the Czech Republic. The Ukrainian politicians reacted by saying Ukraine has the right to form its own foreign and defense policies. "We are an independent state and will make our decisions regardless of what others say." This
