Winner of London's best small hotel

The large atrium pushes natural light through the building, breaking up the slightly drab pastel decor. The enormous wood decked balcony matched the room in size, while London’s newly emerging skyline provided the perfect backdrop. I would like to stay there.

Grapes under City of London

Archaeologists found a depiction of goldfinch and bunches of purple grapes painted almost 2 000 years ago beneath an Italian restaurant in the City of London. This find can be considered most significant for two decades. When the Romans stayed in Britain back then, this part of London, where the depiction was found, was considered most prestigious. Experts hope that the entire decorative scheme, believed to have been part of a building demolished after a fire, may eventually be reconstructed. The find will be published tomorrow by London

Easter in London- a chocolate billboard was eaten in 3 hours

Thorntons invited passers-by to tuck into the 14.5ft by 9.5ft sign in Covent Garden. The Easter creation, a world first, was made of 10 chocolate bunnies, 72 giant chocolate eggs and 128 chocolate panels, each weighing 2kg. The billboard took three months to plan and 300 hours for the team of 10 to build and was expected to last a week. "There was something for everyone from giant bunnies to hazelnut eggs," said chocolatier Barry Colenso.via ananova.com

Brian Eno and his Luminous in Selfridges

Do you know Selfridges in London? It has always been a unique store combining shopping and art. The artist who collaborated with Selfridges are oel Coward, Ivor Novello, Mario Testino and more.So it comes no to surprise that the legendary Brian Eno has chosen Selfridges as the first London venue to exhibit his new Million Painting collection. Luminous is the first large-scale installation of this work. At its core lies over 300 paintings done over a 30 year period. Eno has created a multi-screen installation with software that selects, mixes and overlaps up to four images at a time to create

London plans to be the greenest city in the world

The British capital, Reuters report, set out on Tuesday to become the greenest city in the world with a radical climate action plan to cut carbon emissions by 60 percent within 20 years in the battle against global warming. The plan aims to slash carbon output by reducing demand and wastage across the whole spectrum from individuals to households, businesses and local governments. "This will make London the first city in the world to have a really comprehensive plan to cut its carbon emissions," Mark Watts, climate change adviser to London Mayor Ken Livingstone, told Reuters in an

Papageno restaurant..London

This restaurant is worth to be visited..I was there in September 2006, and certainly would like to come back again. I wish everyone could afford to go there.! The interior of Papageno is a busy concoction of colourful stage props, flamboyant artwork, gilt furniture and heavy drapes. The atmosphere is relaxed, highly charged, makes you feel comfortable and instantly at ease .. The decor is an exuberant cross between an opera set and Aladdin's Cave. Designer of this beauty is Richard "Salim" Sleeman. You can choose to dine in the splendid restaurant or up in the opera boxes, which are mounted
