British Learn Chinese...Americans struggle with English

Do you ever wonder why the US is no longer top dog? One reason is that we refuse to learn or speak any other language than our fractured version of English. American kids can barely speak their native tongue thanks to IM and slack-jawed rappers that make it a point to not speak correctly. Our Government agencies like the CIA and FBI can't find enough Arabic speakers to help in the War on Terror. In the meantime, students in Great Britain will be able to take Mandarin Chinese to help keep their country relevant once China becomes the world's major power.There is nothing more pathetic than watching

Internet set to talk more languages - even ancient hieroglyphics

The University of California at Berkeley, has been awarded about $300,000 in new funding to continue its effort over the next two years to make writing systems for all languages work on the Internet. The initiative, already four years old, will focus on encoding eight scripts this year and eight more next year. These include Javanese and assorted Native American languages.
