| I think I'll better explain why is Russia is preparing for the holidays so late. Well, it's because most Russians are orthodox and celebrate Xmas January 7th. First comes New Year ( which is more popular than Xmas) then, a week later Xmas. Actually to be honest, Russians often celebrate both, catholic Xmas and orthodox Xmas.
