Two weeks ago 4 white lion cub were born in the wildlife zoo in Schloss-Holte Stukenbrock, German. The mother rejected 3 of the cubs who are now being hand-fed by the zookeepers. Sadly the 4-th cubs didn't live long. In the wild white lions are very rare. In captivity however is another story. At about the same time another lioness gave birth to white cubs in another German zoo. Fortunately she is taking care of the litter herself.

Here's something you don't hear everyday. A crocodile has been spotted in Central Germany by 2 municipal employees in the Innerste river. One of the employees was a reptile enthusiast so the information is credible. The croc was roughly 2 1/2-foot or 80 cm not even nearly big enough to attack or kill a human. The animal must have been purchased at a pet store and then released into the river because we all know there are no crocodiles in Europe. The river has been closed for swimming till the animal expert catch the reptile.

A German policeman shot and killed and U.S soldier after a violent domestic incident. According to the police the American soldier, who name is kept secret, armed with a m4 rifle took his girlfriend hostage in her house and tied her up. She managed to get away and inform the police.The police found the man, but he resisted arrest and threatened the officer so they shot him. U.S military police are investigating this case with the German authorities. A 16 year-old boy was sent to Siberia for reeducation. He and his guardian will spend 9 moths in a small village Sidelnikovo. There is no internet, television or telephone there, the only way to get to the village is by car or on foot. The boy has to walk 2.5 kilometers or about 1.5 miles to school. This doesn't sound too bad but in winter it gets cold there about -40 Fahrenheit. He also must rely on himself for everything like chopping the firewood and getting water from the well. Letters and phone calls bombard the Nuremberg Zoo in Germany for letting polar bears cubs starve. 2 polar bear mothers Vera and Wilma gave birth three weeks and five weeks ago respectively. It's not known how many cubs are there, no one has seen them yet. Wilma is showing all the characteristics of a good mother.
