Astronomers spotted an unidentified object making it's way dangerously close to Earth and were ready to announce of the impending doom. Denis Denisenko from Moscow realized that the asteroid was a European Space Agency probe Rosetta launched in 2004 on a ten-year mission to chase a comet. Rosetta will pass close by Earth today to get a gravity boost using the 'sling-shot effect', so it can be hurled towards the comet Churyumov Gerasimenko where it will collect valuable data.
