For many many years Galisia in Spain has been home to a very strange and cruel fiesta called Rapa das bestas. It goes like this. A herd of wild horses are put in a corral afterwards men and women jump in a try to get on if the horse down and tear the horse's tail and mane out. The fiesta lasts for 3 hot, July days after which everyone, tired but content gets back to whatever they were doing. On these photos you can see the people using scissors so it's not so cruel as teaing the hair out.

This installation is modeled after the Almadraba - a Mediterranean tuna trap. This project was displayed in Sapporo and it is a comment on over-fishing.The Catch is made using empty fish boxes by designer Julia Lohmann.
