| Every year around 4,500 fledglings are handed over to the RSPCA. The little birds were either abandoned or taken by people who thought they were helping them.The caretakers play dawn chorus twice a day to the birds to help the learn how to sing. The ability to sing is very important to birds, especially males who use song to protects their territory and attract females. RSPCA officers are going to monitor the released birds and see whether the singing lessons helped the birds to adapt.
