| Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in men's 10 metre air rifle event of the shooting competition at Beijing Olympics Monday morning. This was India's First Ever Individual GOLD Medal in the OLYMPICS, and a gold medal won after 28 years!! The medal is India's first individual gold, and the first since 1980, when the hockey team emerged triumphant in Moscow Bindra shot a total score of 700.5.
