| Meet Gregoire Da silva; Cape Town’s most recognisable foreigner. The man from the tiny West African state of Benin has been turning heads in the city. He is adding an African flair to the mother city’s tourism landscape. Regular visitors to Green Market Square and St. George’s Mall are familiar with the sight: A colourfully-garbed man who goes about balancing a heap of junk atop his tiny head. He causes quite a stir everywhere he goes. The sight is eerie at worst, awesome at best. It makes people gasp in bewilderment. The picture is reminiscent of a figure from an African folklore

| This is the first documented case of a leopard attacking a crocodile. Wildlife photographer Hal Brindley made the shots while taking photos of hippos in Kruger National Park. The leopard managed to grab the crocodile by the throat and suffocate it. Usually predators don't see crocodiles as prey because the risks of tackling a crocodile outweigh the meat it provides. This leopard must have been pretty desperate.

| Usually hippos are found in rivers but this one decided to make his way to the sunny beach.This hippo was spotted near the holiday town of Ballito, near Durban in South Africa.Lionel van Schoor from KZN Wildlife says this hippo was spotted in Richards Bay 2 months ago and since then has been moving south.The animal is probably a young male not no one is sure.If this hippo continues to move south it'll be moving into residential areas where food is going to be a problem. They cannot dart it because it would run in the water and drown. So the only hope for the hippo is to stop moving south.the

| Today is St. Joseph's Day a special semi-holiday for Sicilians and it celebrates divine intervention of one of Sicily's famous droughts. Famine was not an unknown word for my ancestors and so we honor those harsh times by eating a meal made from pasta, wild fennel and fava beans -products that were once considered weeds and animal feed. | Kolmanskop is a ghost town in southern Namibia, a few kilometers inland from the port of Lüderitz. In 1908 Lüderitz plunged into diamond fever and people rushed to the desert hoping to make a fortune. In 2 years the town complete with a casino, school, hospital and exclusive residential buildings was built. In 1950's after the drop of diamond sales the town was deserted. Now the desert has begun reclaiming it.
