Switching banks without changing a/c number soon

After portability in mobile and health insurance finally we get chance to maintain account number even after switching with bank accounts. Definitely a great move. Sometime later we might see things like NSDL and CSDL for banks as well where banks are just a broker themselves?? Switching banks without changing a/c number soon: The idea is to save customers the inconvenience of opening and closing bank accounts or keeping multiple accounts if they have to shift to a new location or find their bank's services unsatisfactory.
