SuperBowl, Dutch style...

Ok. Just relay you guys. I know, it's *the* event of the year. The Super bowl. So get your Cheeto's out, your Bud, crank up the home cinema system, get your personalized defibrillator charged up and enjoy!

Oh, before you all start asking me questions about the Super Bowl... I am from The Netherlands and American Football is not that popular here. We have one team with some importance here, The Amsterdam Crusaders and they won the Dutch finals for the past 763 years or so - give a few years. They have a 2 girl cheer-leader group and they are Siamese twins, so they don't move to well. No throwing there. On the other hand, no face - plant FAILS. Bummer. People over here are more into 'Voetbal' and there is where the confusion begins. Our 'Voetbal' is pronounced like Americans would say 'Football' where they mean to say our 'Voetbal' which actually is your soccer. See? Confusion! You still there? Well helooo...

Here's a pic of (try to pronounce this, it will break your tongue amongst other bodily parts.) 'Klaas Jan Huntelaar'. I have to admit, that he does not look like half the hero in a Football team, but he can trip a striker just 2 inches out of the penalty area, with a look on his face that spells 'Whut? What did I do? I didn't even touch the guy!' and get away with it. He wears no protection whatsoever except his shin covers. No jock-strap cup, no helmet, no padding, no nothing. Man against man and nature. I believe he's a smoker too and drinks a couple of beers in halftime. And if he does not, he should, because winning is in his blood. Oh well, it's just a game. The celebration of the Super Bowl will be one of utter joy and drunkenness for the winners and an increase in suicide attempts for the losers. Well, I can't really watch the Superbowl Live here in The Netherlands, but I am sure as hell going to enjoy the on-line speak previews of the commercials. And for the half time show, I'm hoping for a new and improved nipple slip. Just cuz. ;P Oh, and it's from either Madonna, or the 'we can't sing' girls from M.I.A.
