Would you rather have juice instead of water? My husband does and that is why powdered juices are always on our grocery list. But as we all know, powdered juices are not as healthy as fresh fruit juices because of the added artificial flavor and coloring. For this reason I really encourage my husband to still drink plenty of water and I try to limit his juice intake to a maximum of 3 glasses a day. I am a little strict huh? Well, that for his own good anyway.

But while we were doing our grocery this afternoon at the SM Hypermarket, we came across this brand of fruit and vegetable juices from Thailand called Tipco. Actually, the one thing that really got my attention was the word "Veggie" juice. You see, my husband and I are working in Manila and we go home everyday to Bulacan so you can just imagine how much time I spend on the road; and given this situation, I really don't have much time to prepare a balanced meal. When I saw this veggie juice, I had the idea that may be this could supplement the nutrients that we are missing from the food that we eat, plus husband will be able to have a healthier juice that he so loves to drink...that would be two birds in one stone! Hehehehe...

We ended up buying Guava juice, Red Grape juice and Purple Carrot juice. Of course, I want to make sure that it really is something that's good for the health so I checked the nutrition facts and here's what I found:

Guava Juice

  • no flavor added
  • no color added
  • no preservatives (packed with Aseptic Technology)
  • 100% guava juice
  • 2% iron
  • 40% Vitamin C
Purple Carrot Juice
  • 50% Purple Carrot
  • 30% Red Grapes
  • 20% Apple
  • 110% Vitamin A
  • 80% Vitamin B2
  • 90% Vitamin E
  • 90% Vitamin B1
  • 120% Vitamin C
  • 4% Iron
  • 2% Calcium
Red Grape Juice
  • 100% Red grape juice
  • no flavor added
  • no color added
  • no preservatives (packed with Aseptic Technology)
  • 8% Iron
  • 2% Vitamin B1
  • 2% Calcium
  • 8% Vitamin C

With the benefits that can be derived from these juices, I intend to include them in our diet and those will definitely replace the powdered juices in our grocery list.
