Cheers to all of us thieves! 1) Put your iTunes on shuffle. Give me the first 6 songs that pop up. * Moves like a jagger - Maroon 5 2) If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be? * Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Ray, and Martha Stewart 3) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17. * At home, many husbands continue this solution-offering practice. - From the book "Swatting the Mosquitoes of Marriage" 4) What do you think about most? * Lately, I've been thinking about...

Kinda sad...

Today's one of those days where I feel sad and lonely. In a couple of hours, both my parents will be flying to the US along with my aunts and uncles. It's quite sad coz it wouldn't be just a month-long vacation for them. They are migrating to the US - which means that it would take them a couple of years to come back and be with us again. I know that time will fly by quickly. It's being away from them for so long that's making me sad. You see, I moved out of the house when I got married 5 yrs...

Friday Fill-Ins

TGIF! Another set of fill-ins to be filled out. And...here we go! 1. When the time comes to make a decision, I always make sure to consult my husband, parents, or anyone who could be involved. Just recently I asked my husband if we could purchase a piece of rustic furniture that would go well with the ones we have at home. His answer: "We'll see". Arrrgggh! 2. And because I said so, that must be the rule. Haha. An act of selfishness, indeed! Baaaad... 3. Ma says, prayer DOES move mountains....

Happy Heart's Day!

Valentine's happens to be a memorable day for me as 6 years ago, the marriage proposal happened. As I type away, the song Reminiscing by The Little River Band is playing in the background. What a coincidence! I can't help but reminisce how it all happened. It would be bit boring if I tell the whole story. But just so to make the story short - we met up in a coffee shop after work, had dinner with my parents and brother, brought them home, and went to another coffee shop again. Then it all...

Steal or Deal?

Group buying sites are such a hit since last year and is still soaring up until now. Has anyone purchased from one of the several listed here ? As far as I can recall, I've signed up for these sites when they were just starting. Bought a voucher for a minimal amount only to see how it goes and if it is for real. I guess it's for real coz a colleague of mine purchased her hotel voucher from one of those sites when she took a vacation in Indonesia. She said it's quite a steal. Lucky! I found...

Monster Headphones

For quite some time now, I have been wondering what it would be like to own one of the Monster headphones that a lot of people are raving about today. I love music, listening to music, and singing along with it. Thing is, I am not that "techy" when we speak of music gadgets. I'm happy and contented with my phone radio or the sound system we have at home, or maybe the car radio. I'm perfectly happy with that. PERIOD! I do have an mp3 player, but nah, I haven't been using it for a long time...

Repost: 10 Things to Remind Yourself on a Daily Basis

How I love positive affirmations. Don't you? Just this morning I read something interesting at mindbodygreen.com and I want to share it with you. Read on... 1. Do not lose sight of what truly matters.  Does that clogged sink signify the end of the world? Are you going to remember or even care that the stranger you smiled at in the coffee shop didn’t smile back? When we’re having a bad day, we seem to zoom in on petty things and complain about them. Next time you’re pulling your hair out over...

Hello, Summer!

Summer for me starts today, the very first day of March. Can you feel the summer breeze? Or is that heat and humidity in the atmosphere? Yesterday morning, as I was having my breakfast al fresco, I enjoyed the cool summer breeze. That was at around 7am. After an hour or two, I felt sticky all over, perspiring and wanting to have a cold glass of water by my side. Arrgh! When I was still in grade school all the way up to high school, my brother and I enjoyed waking up early on a summer day....

Pool or the Beach ...

... which do you prefer? In an instant I'd say the BEEEEEEAAACCHH!!! Sun, sand, blue skies, waves = fun, fun, fun!!! Haha! I believe there would be quite a number of people who'd prefer the pool for safety reasons. But during the summer, hands down on the beach for me. It's salt water vs intellichlor. I wouldn't mind swimming in the pool, but only if it would be in a hotel which is still by the beach.Yeah, that would be great. So, the planning begins. Let's see where we are headed to this...

21DPC Day 1 – On a Scale of 1-10, How Happy Are You? And Why?

I am participating in a 21-day challenge which is geared towards being positive and staying positive at all times. Thank heavens I stumbled upon http://personalexcellence.co while searching for affirmations online. Here's the question for DAY 1: On a Scale of 1-10, How Happy Are You? And Why? I'd give it a 7 rating. Quite low, you say? That would be an honest reply. This is a rate I'd give in general. If given the chance to break it down into different aspects then I would give a lot of...

Friday Fill-Ins

Happy Easter to all who celebrate it! Here we go! 1. Eggs Benedict! Oh, how I miss this. 2. Jannesse is awesome! 3. When I look in the mirror, I keep on saying to myself to go on a diet. 4. Steak and anything with potatoes - these are the things I like for a special dinner! 5. Currently, I'm researching on topics on how and where to buy gold coins (for real?!?!?). 6. The Hunger games. 7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a lovely time at the office (yes, I am scheduled to...

21DPC Day 2 Question: Who is One Friend You Appreciate Having? And Why?

It has been said that friends add meaning to our lives. They bring joy, and share in your sadness. One friend I appreciate having and knowing in my lifetime is my colleague, Noel. He's strict, but funny. Straight but not brutally frank. Confident, but not conceited. Shy, erase that word. Haha! He's one person you can count on and trust. He has never a been a bad influence to me. He listens to me, I listen to him. But still we respect that space needed in between. Plain and simple. * i'm...

Dance class or Yoga?

Before heading to lalaland the other night, signing up for a belly dancing class or a yoga class came across my mind. This happened because I was just reading a magazine article which talks about being fit and fab just by attending these classes. Joining a belly dancing class would mean FUN, FUN, FUN. I love to dance and I think that I will really enjoy it. But I find yoga interesting too. Much more on how to become a yoga instructor. Haha. That's very, very far off. I have to attend a class...

Ouch!

I am pretty much sure I will be visiting my doctor anytime within the week. Why? It is because for several days now I have been waking up feeling pain, stiffness, and numbness sometimes in my right elbow and fingers. Arrrgh! First thing that came to my mind -Arthritis. Oh no! Not at my age, please? Well, I'm not that young anymore but I'm not at that age yet for me to experience this. Yesterday, as I opened the peanut butter lid, I felt something weird. Pain on the wrist, that is. Hmmm... I...

All in a day's work...

It's almost 9:00pm Manila time. I'm here at work trying to finish everything that needs to be done today. My shift starts at 8pm, ends at 5am. As you can see, I am not done yet with all the items on my To Do list today. I just took a 5 min break from what I'm doing. Grant me the power to complete all that needs to be done so by tomorrow, I will be off to a good start again. An hour has just passed and I think that I've accomplished a lot. That is because I came in early. An hour early, that...
