Chinese soups are a meal in themselves. They have the carbohydrates in the form of noodles. The proteins come from the chicken or meat shreds. The fiber and vitamins come from the different vegetables. To top it all if you don't use the corn flour to thicken it you will have a tummy filling treat with almost no calories. A close cousin of Chinese Cuisine would be the Tibetan food served in Leh, Ladhak. On a visit to Spituk about six years ago I tasted the soup meal most popular there, called the Thukpa. Essentially there is not much of a difference between true Chinese and Tibetan food in soups. ...

One of the most difficult things to get children to do is eat nutritiously. So if you can push in two good things where one would go it has to be a major time saver. Getting them to eat breakfast before going to school is a major task for the parent. That is where the Egg Flip comes in very handy. A much faster way of getting the right stuff down the gullet before the bus comes to take him away to school. So what do you do if the child hates the smell of egg in milk? You disguise it. If your child has a regular milk additive ...

Soups are the weight watchers best friends. Made with nutritious vegetables it adds few calories to th emeal. Plus it gives you a feeling of being full. The stomach needs to get used to the lesser food calories that you will give it and soups are a great way to trick the stomach into believing that it is still being fed as usual. That soups are a desirable part of your meal has been established. However what if you don't have the time to boil vegetables or chicken to make the stock? Or you are not too sure how to make stock at all? Does that mean you need to eat tinned or packet powder soup? No ...

Eating healthy is not just an option but a necessity. These days the kind of food we eat on the run is not healthy. It is fast food and junk food. It has little or no nutritional value. It only serves one purpose. To abate hunger pangs while we rush around our work day.The result? We pack on empty calories and our immune system grows weaker. We get fatter and are more prone to disease. We feel fatigued with the least demand on our physical self. No stamina and irritability are common symptoms.Actually it would be unfair to blame only bad eating habits on the general decline in our state of health. ...
