While other sites are bringing you 2 year old game script mods, the homie Shadow-Link is paving the way for the next generation of real Grand Theft Auto modding. See, the collision files were really tough this time around… wait, let me prime this achievement unlocked. Everyone knows that the biggest thing about GTA Modding is maps, more commonly known as a Total Conversion in the GTA modding world because “a new map = a new GTA”. Especially these days where you have the episodic content and...

This program is awesome. Based on parts of the Blender 3D code base, Roadkill UV Tool is so good at what it does it will sicken you over how much time you’ve probably spent unwrapping your model elements in the past. Yes, I know, that sounds like marketing. I pull chains not. This program is great because of one very important thing that is hard to find in the 3D artist’s toolbox: Simplicity. It only has a few different things you can do: Load a model, pick some edges, tap ‘c’ to cut those...

I just was shared this image about how much the xbox 360 sucks, and so I will share it to you. I don’t do this a lot, but this one made my whole day. Enjoy. Whoever made this, thanks. Whether you relate because of games, selection, or simply the evil associated with Xbox Live, I’m sure you can appreciate it. Thanks to my friend JostVice for linking me.

First of all, Freedom Of Speech you fluffy headed clone fruit cakes. Unity Prefabs ? The tornado twins stole the idea for their little unity prefabs store from me. I approached the tornado twins a while back and became friendly with them. Told them I wanted to make a website where people could get unity 3d prefabs and that I would like to include them to leverage their traffic from youtube. I have youtube emails with them asking me for more information and pretending that we will do unity...

SO, let me get this straight, Microsoft… THE “CONSOLE YOU’VE DREAMED TO MAKE”, as kind sir has put it… WAS A PS3??? HAHA! You still got that DLDVD in there, or can people yet play their Blu Ray? Oh, wait, you wouldn’t do that would you? Well I hope you know, there may be a lot of stupid people in the world, but there are not enough for you to literally remove the ownership of optical storage and instead stream and/or download to them just because you don’t like the format. Nice PS3. You knew PS3 wasn’t going to be there until 2010 anyway.

Mani, head honcho over at InfiniteUnity3D, shared a video he found showcasing some new features for Unity 3.0. My thoughts are this: Oh, that’s pretty. Really. The new deferred shading in Unity 3.0 has, I assume, allowed for the new effects you’ll see after to just to IU3D. If you are reading this and confused, Unity is a game engine. An easy to use game engine designed for rapid development of prototypes and full scale browser, pc, and mobile games. It has expanded over the last few years...

Nice and quick with this one. The game engine we’ve been developing at Grit Game Engine is ready for more hands. Lua programmers, game artists of all types, c++ coders welcome. All game development peeps welcome.
Define: Grit
backbone: fortitude and determination; “he didn’t have the guts to try it”
You can browse and liven up the game engine forum with your presence, or you can take a dive through the game engine wiki. Of particular interest would be the SVN instructions and first time users guide.

DiamondTearz has recently posted this list of driving physics tutorials for Unity3D over on InfiniteUnity3D for our heathenish consumption and learning pleasures. The list of driving physics explanations and examples is pretty exhaustive and probably the best in-one-place you’ll find right now. It’s 2 pages deep and an awesome source of info for me so far, hoping it will all apply to Unity 3 (I’m thinking it will) There is information for car, plane, boat, even helicopter driving physics docs...

Rock Band tards are in trouble now – all your musix gamez r belong to REAL MUSICIANS. No excuses for your real guitar and its strings to rot while you look stupid tapping buttons on a plastic toy, falsely under the impression that you have skills.
“It’s like playing the real song!”…Ummm, No it’s Not… This is pretty much the death of being cool just because you can play guitar, let alone Guitar Hero, because every 12 year old is going to be better than most of you by the time they beat the first level.
lol guitar hero players, owned. Wannabe musicians

You guys are behaving like IDIOTS lately, what do you think I was pretending? You have a lot to learn about me. BOGOTA is a place in VICE CITY. You people forget what you have been told that fast? BOGOTA is a part of VICE CITY. SEE YOU IN VICE CITY like I repeatedly told you idiots over and over again. :)

My Unity 3D Video Tutorials post has been off the front page for quite some time now so I wanted to talk about the Tornado Twins again as they have recently put out their 20th Unity 3D Video Tutorial (actually, Feb 15, so I’ll serve as a reminder in case you missed it). That means there are 19 other Unity 3D video tutorials there, and if you are like me and have yourself into a lot of projects all the time, you appreciate bite sized interface tutorials and technology talks. I really like what...

Well, Epic just released a new UDK beta! Whatever. It’s here if you actually want it. And here’s a list of changes to the engine. Personally, I would rather mod GTA than use the UDK. I’d use Unity if I was going to make an indie game way before I considered Epic’s “Make them do it Tim’s way” proprietary mess. Besides, the Grit Game Engine is probably going to put the rest of internet independent game and mod development to shame, while being open source and free all-the-way. Anyway, I just...

I haven’t been slacking, I’ve been working on the site for the Grit Game Engine and the Game Engine Forum for said game engine. It is young, so it doesn’t quite yet replace GTA as my favorite engine, but if you know how to use that engine, you’ll be able to use this game engine.
Grit is really young yet it already offers so much You can build large open worlds in it and drive beta cars and planes with a full day cycle already. I don’t want to extend this blog posting too far, instead I would like to extend an invitation to come over to the Grit Game Engine sites linked

Rockstar Games’ Agent for PS3 is probably less than a year from release. Remember that interview from PlanetGrandTheftAuto.com? This is why you should be excited about Rockstar Games’ Agent. That is, of course, provided you own a PS3.
Agent is said to be shaping up to become Rockstar’s next big thing since GTA III – yes, that’s III, not IV – and if this video is any true indication of the quality that Rockstar North intends to achieve with Agent, then this is going to be the reason I cave and buy a console. Not much is known about Agent as of yet, but is this

I like the GTA IV video editor. I am really looking forward to Episodes From Liberty City (pre-order now and meet me in multiplayer) coming to PC. This is probably the best video I’ve done with the GTA IV video editor so far, so I wanted to share it here.
I could probably use some practice, but drop a comment on it here or on YouTube and let me know what you think anyway. Link us to videos you made with the GTA IV video editor :)
