That old friend is reviewing. But, please, if you are an author, do not get too excited! I'm working through BookRooster.com, a site that increases an author's chance of receiving an Amazon review. I receive free Kindle books to review in the following genres (I chose these): Mystery Horror Thriller How-to My reviews are then added to the book's sale page on Amazon. By the sounds of it I can work at my own pace which suits me. Please, however, do not ask me privately for a review because I...

I'm hoping that this month in the year of 2011, will go down in my history as the start of new beginnings as a freelance writer and reviewer. Today saw the first ever publication of my new mailing list entitled See Wight's Informer. This newsletter will publish all new works, happenings, events, weblog posts, stories etc. created by me. Since I started as a amateur writer in 2000, events have been few and far between, so I believed that it was way too early to even contemplate a mailing...

If you are sick and tired of Facebook changing the rules, security settings and the like, then it's time to try a new concept in social networking. Zurker.com is just that. Something entirely different to many of the networking sites out there. As we all know, social networks are a great way to keep in contact with friends and family, find new friends etc. Privacy on these sites are always a concern. You are often required to fill out your profile which usually tends to include pretty sensitiv...

Building backlinks to your pages is an essential part of SEO (short for Search Engine Optimization) for two reasons. The first reason is that it helps your pages get indexed faster, which is very important because you want the search engines to find them as soon as possible and crawl them regularly. The second reason is that it helps your pages get higher search engine rankings for the keywords of your choice. The more backlinks you have, the better. Period. However, building backlinks can be …

...of Interests and Hobbies promoted via Squidoo.comThis is the new addition to my blogs :) A Patchwork Quilt is on Blogger and it will explore my interests and hobbies of which I promote using the platform Squidoo.com.Rather than annoying people bookmarking each new lens I create, I've decided that by exploring my interests via a blog (and in turn linking to a lens it relates to), I will not be seen as a spammer (so much!)The categories on this blog will include topics such as paranormal, true crime, health, books, the unusual, food, animals and marketing. If there is a topic there that would ...

I've placed up on Hentracks, an excerpt of one of my new erotic short stories which will be published in December as a collection. I aim to change this excerpt at least once a week until I run out of material. Do take note that the title and the content of these stories will be changing before publication. I don't want to give away all of my secrets, you know! For those of you who enjoy reading my stories, this will be welcoming news to hear as it shows that I haven't completely stopped writing stories in any genre. I would still love to branch out more in the horror and crime genres, so do keep ...

Contradiction:'via Blog this' A brand new squidoo lens has just been published! This lens is a work in progress as I know that more information will be added over time as I recall them! It seems a funny topic for a squidoo lens but I believe it features a lot in many of our lives. How it affects us individuality is another matter. I am curious to know just how much contradiction we experience throughout our lives. See what you think.

Yes, for the umpteenth time (basically, I've lost count of the number of times the site has had a template change), my official homepage has been re-launched. However, this time, new content will be added to Hentracks, more posts will be published on this blog about my work and happenings and more promotion and marketing will be going on in terms of both Hentracks and this blog. It's time to get my name back out there! :D Hentracks

This is my latest squidoo lens and it's a debate :)Do you find wolf whistles offensive?Wolf-whistling has made the news a few times lately and I thought it would be a good way to provoke a debate. My attitude towards wolf-whistles has changed a lot over the years. Maybe because I'm more confident in myself and who I am...who knows? What are your views on this? Please, do visit the lens and leave your opinions!

URL: http://www.squidoo.com/england-and-america-two-countrie... what is YOUR view of this quote? Is it accurate? Could the possible 'misunderstanding' of expression, verbal meaning, set us both on the road to huge conflict as before? Or does it ultimately bring us closer together with positive results? Also, although I have listed the source as being Shaw, were there other great men who said these words? But mainly, does this quote still hold some relevance? My latest post at EWN discusses why we write...what drives us to express ourselves using the written word. Fundamentally, I don't think the true reason why many of us listen to the urge to write ever changes. Any other reason as to why we write, which builds upon that, may alter, increase or decrease over time.Life can sometimes trigger a huge change in direction and that certainly relates to me in many ways. I used to be happy just writing erotica. It was something I thought that I would become very well known for. However, over the past few years I've moved away from this area and, although I

I have so much information and knowledge about writing but, for the most part, I'm unable to structure it.Writing a weekly post on EWN does help a lot with respect to organising my knowledge and allowing others and myself to benefit from it.Organising is one important aspect of editing your own writing which I have touched upon this week on Carrie's Writing Tips. To read more about editing and proofreading, then please do read my latest post at EWN:Check and check again! | Extreme Writing Now
