With all of the winter weather occuring recently, and more planned to hit the UK, I thought i'd make a post on driving in these wintery conditions. Even the most experienced of drivers can be affected by snow, whether it be heavy or light when driving a car. When driving on ice, skidding is usually the biggest danger. You should always drive carefully, and gently use the accelator, steering and brakes when needed. If you find yourself in a position in which the vehicle starts to skid, steer...

The new concepts are named the Swiss Up, Winter Up, X Up and Cargo Up. First up is the Swiss Up which appears to be a homage to the Geneva Motor Show and features an interior and exterior based on the colour of the swiss flag. Apparently this concept also contains a special pouch behind each front seat which...

What you're looking at there is the latest incarnation of the Bugatti Veyron, it seems to be a cross between the open-top body of the Veyron Grand Sport and the 1183bhp powerhouse that is the Veyron Super Sport. The result could possibly be the fastest convertible ever. What on Earth does Vitesse mean? well apparently it's French for speed, I suppose it's a little more creative than names like Grand Sport and Super sport that have been features on past incarnations. The 16-cylinder engine that...

I recently found this video on youtube showing some car crash tests and the results are unbelievable. The video features cars from Italy, Britain and China taking part in crash tests and most if not all of the cars in the video fail very badly. Some of the worst crashes in the video include the proton at 1:20 which doesn't come out of the crash test to well. The 92 Holden Commodore at 2:30 also fails the test epicly after being left in a pile of scrap metal from the collision. If you own any...

The 1990 Honda Accord, belonging to a man from maine has racked up a total of 1 million miles. To put that into perspective, it's the equivalent to driving around the world 40 times. On average, he's racked up a whopping 62,000 miles a year The car began it's wild journey when Joe Locicero, a car buff and experienced technician, bought the vehicle in 1996 with 74,000 miles on it. He intended to get his money's worth out the car, I think it's safe to say he achieved that. After reaching...

Hybrid vehicles have a big advantage over their gas-guzzling siblings when it comes down to fuel comparisons, but it also appears that batteries and electric motors make them safer too. The Highway Loss Data Institute or HLDI for short did a study with 25 vehicles made between 2003 and 2011 that used both typical and hybrid engines. However, the Toyota Prius and the Honda insight were excluded from the study, due to the fact that neither vehicle has a conventionally-powered counterpart. The...

As I'm currently learning to drive, I've decided to begin looking at an ideal car to buy and more importantly, quotes for car insurance. In case you don't know, Car insurance for new drivers has sky rocketed in the past decade, especially for young men. This is all down to the number of accidents that drivers under the age of 25 are involved in, with a large portion of these accidents probably being the result of competitive driving. According to research carried out recently by the AA,...

We all know that car manufacturers are trying to make more economically efficient cars and reduce their carbon footprints. Possible solutions to cutting carbon emissions include the research of hydrogen fuel cells and even algaed power cars. The internet giant Google has been given a patent for the technology behind the autonomous creation. The patent itself focuses on the method used to switch the vehicle from a human-controlled mode into an "auto pilot" state. Using Hi tech sensors, the vehicle would be able to dock at a landing strip, from there it could receive instructions or directions through the internet or other devices.
