After giving birth last December, I’m still adjusting with this motherhood phase. Once in a while, I get exhausted after juggling work and mommy duties, good thing Gwen sleeps through the night now. Last month, Jeff and I took a vacation to Hong Kong, we just used the promo tickets we got from Cebu Pacific because they can’t issue refunds for promo tickets. Now that summer time is approaching, I’m sure most of you are already planning your beach holidays. I’m quite excited planning our first...

For HK travelers on a budget and wondering where you can find affordable restaurants, then look for Yoshinoya. They also have KFC and McDonald’s in HK but they don’t serve rice. And Pinoys eat rice wherever we go, right? Yoshinoya also opens early, around 7 or 8 am so it’s perfect for breakfast before you head to your HK adventure. Yoshinoya is famous for their….BEEF BOWL! Thin slices of beef over perfectly cooked rice seasoned with their signature sauce… Yoshinoya Beef Bowl Beef bowl For the...

For the chocoholics like me, Hong Kong may be one of my fave places. This is because there are wide variety of chocolates available, some can’t be found in our groceries. And for dark chocolate lovers, finding lots of them at 7-eleven stores is like finding gold bars, haha… Here are my chocolate finds during my recent HK trip: KitKat dark and Maltesers dark Cadbury Mint Dark chocolates and mint chocolates are love! Want some?

Going to your hotels/guesthouses from Hong Kong International Airport is not a hassle even with big luggages around. For budget travelers like us, taxi is not an option so we always take the airport bus, A21. Airport A21 bus If you’re hotel is in Tsim Sha Tsui, this is the bus you’re going to take. Fare is 33 HKD, accepts Octopus Cards or prepare exact fare. It has spacious luggage compartments located near the door so that you can sit comfortably while travelling and enjoy the view of Tsing...

Do you get paranoid that airport staffs and customs officers peek into our checked-in luggages/bags and sometimes steal important belongings? I do, this is the reason why it keeps me from buying high-ticket items and bringing it here because aside from paying taxes from the customs, I’m afraid it might get lost in transit too. I’ve read about stories that their luggages have been slashed and airport authorities just can’t point on who’s responsible for that. Well, now there’s a solution,...

I’ve read from several blog posts about this new Michelin starred dimsum restaurant in Mongkok, Tim Ho Wan. This made Tim Ho Wan included in our lists of “to-do” things, Lin Heung (which is also a Michelin starred restaurant) is also included in the list but Tim Ho Wan is closer to TST. Coming from the warnings of other bloggers, the waiting time is 2 hours, so to avoid this, come before the place opens at 10 am. We arrived past 10 am, so the first batch of lucky diners were already munching...

For the culmination of our hiking in Hong Kong trip, we successfully hiked Dragon’s Back. We were supposed to hike this during our last visit, May 2009, but we’re pressed for time so we chose Lantau Peak on our previous hike. And to end our unfinished business, we hiked Dragon’s Back via the To Tei Wan to Big Wave Bay route. Dragon’s Back is the most popular hike among locals and tourists alike due to its accessibility and spectacular bilateral views of the Clear Water Bay Peninsula in the...

I’m troubled again because Gwen’s yaya left yesterday, she left because her 1-year-old daughter is sick and her husband wants her home. I’m sad because she left when I’m about to go back to work, besides, she’s very nice and takes care of Gwen patiently. What’s more troubling is that the other helpers referred to us before already got their jobs and none left for poor Gwen.
I have dozens of blog posts, I hope Gwen behaves now and sleeps through the night so that I don’t have to worry on how to get rid of dark circles under my eyes.
I’ll try my very

While staying at the double room of Taisan Guesthouse, I browsed one of the drawers to look for Hong Kong maps other guests might have left. brochures and HK maps True enough, I find brochures and print-outs inside the drawer, but what caught my eye are these three printouts… my blog posts about HK A smile creeped into my face the moment I found print outs of my blog posts, call me conceited but I find it flattering that others find my posts helpful. So a BIG thank you to a reader/friend who...

One primary reason why I was so excited to go to Hong Kong is because I wanted to purchase Iphone 4 there. Apple Store HK sells the 32 GGB Iphone 4 for HKD 5,888 or around Php 33,000. Very significant price difference compared to prices here in the Philippines. Iphones in HK are unlocked already and can be used here without jailbreak. I searched high and low in different Fortress branches, the official Apple reseller in HK, in Central, Mongkok and all over TST but they all have the “sold out”...

It’s a pre-Valentine’s weekend, and like I said before, I’m not a fan of V-day. But Jeff asked me to spend the weekend atop the mountain (Mt. Batulao) and in the cool breezy Tagaytay. It’s been more than a year since my last climb, why not? And so we had a day hike at Mt. Batulao which I will write after my sore muscles are gone, hehe. After the climb, I was so hungry that I’d like to eat at the nearest carinderia, Ate Fe’s, and order a piping hot bulalo. But Jeff wanted a more relaxing...

Manny Pacquaio’s house in Los Angeles was featured in MTV Cribs. I felt proud upon seeing Manny Pacquiao in this US show, and his humility still shows as he toured the crew inside the house. He deserves all the luxury he owns and enjoying right now.
I wonder who designed his house, very modern. I love the comfy lounge chairs with blue accents beside the pool. I didn’t see a dog bed for his pet in the house though, I’m sure it will be plush just like his master’s home.

I’ve been busy looking for restaurants, caterers and venues near Malate Catholic Church for Gwen’s christening. My original plan is to rent the church’s function hall and then have a catering service. But with this plan, I still have to look for different suppliers for invitations, cakes and baptismal souvenirs. I don’t think I can manage to do all this because I’m busy taking care of the little princess, I even forgot to send my baby birth announcements because free time for me means sleep time. Anyway, although I wanted a very unique baptismal celebration for the

The buzz about Wingman from bloggers started last year. But since its location in Makati, I can only jot it down on my “to-visit-restos” list. And finally, I had the chance to go to Makati and included in the itinerary is to pay Wingman at The Collective a visit. We didn’t have a hard time ordering because we already know what to order, wings of course! We ordered for a half dozen of Buffalo Classic first. Come to think of it, serving chicken wings does not require exemplary chef work but...
