Software Review: Movavi Video Converter 11
You guys might be wondering what a Video Conversion software has got to do with blogging in general. We’ll tackle that in a bit but first, here’s a disclaimer. Given the nature of this program, we at Bloggergeeze would want to clarify that this software should only be used in legally acquired media and will only use the output for personal use. With that out of the way, here’s where we are. Whenever you post a media content to your personal site or blog, what you normally do is upload them to a streaming site like YouTube and embed the content from there. While that’s a good thing, there are certain limitations when uploading there, especially with licensed content. On that note, we’re here to present something that not only will help you in converting videos to a desired format, but as well as provide a means to utilize your video to your site.
Here’s the main interface of the Movavi video converter program. As you can see, it’s relatively simple and you can easily access what you need without going to a ton of menus. The interface is mainly divided into three panels, at the top left is the file queue where you place the videos to be converted and set the encoding preset to be used. What’s neat about this program is that you can tweak the settings per file. As such you can perform multiple conversions to multiple formats in a single run. And speaking of formats, the program also provides a lot of them, especially with those commonly used mobile devices running Android or those iDevices (AVI, MPEG, MP4, WMV, ASF, 3GP, 3GPP, MKV, MP3, MOV, QT, VOB, IFO, MOD, DAT, M2T, MTS, VRO, FLV, etc. Devices: iPad, iPod, iPhone, PSP, Nokia, BlackBerry, Android, Sumsung, etc.). Those formats are located in the bottom section of the window. Lastly is a preview window to the right that not only shows you how the video will come out, but will also enable you to trim the video and apply some basic effects like adjusting the brightness/contrast, frame rotation as well as watermark placement.
And now for the bloggers, specifically video & film reviewers. This program provides handy tools for creating posts that suit these users. As seen above, you can easily take screenshots of your videos at preset intervals in either BMP, JPG or other formats provided. This is handy especially with bloggers doing episodic reviews of programs that need to showcase some screenshots.
You can also perform conversions that will automatically generate a flash player that can be used for web browsers. Though this specifically works for self-hosted sites and will require an additional installation of modules to work. Overall, this program is a pretty nifty package and for the $30.00 current asking price, it’s worth it. For a more detailed review, head on to the comprehensive review at TechGeeze.
