‘Snowmageddon’ done social media style

Well, the weather was at it again. The day before some groundhog named Phil is supposed to determine our seasonal fate, yet another bad winter storm hit Northwest Arkansas. The snow totals are as little as one inch near Fort Smith and as much as about 10 inches in northwest Benton County. The problem is, ice fell before the snow-making the roads even more treacherous. Schools and many businesses closed. Flights to and from many area airports were canceled.

As is the norm for just about any major (and minor) event, social media was alive with chatter about the storm. The hashtag #nwasnow11 was used on Twitter and the Fayetteville Flyer ran a running accumulation of the tweets.

One of our cats, Missy, was determined to check out both our front and back door as if the weather would be different outside one than the other.

We got 5.5 to 6 inches at our home in downtown Bentonville. That's my husband John shoveling us out.
