I didn't think the larger screen made much difference but I really like the larger size on the 40d. Overall I think it's a great camera. Not sure how much larger the lcd are going to get on the slrs. 3inch is pretty huge. One of the things I noticed with the 40d is the burst rate dramatically goes down the tube when you enable noise reduction. Canon calls it the high ISO noise reduction in the custom function, but upon further reading it is enabled across the entire ISO range. My buffer went from 80 down to 6! Not a big deal for most of us who don't shot sports but still it's annoying.
