Canon 40d just love it. AF is improved.

I didn't think the larger screen made much difference but I really like the larger size on the 40d. Overall I think it's a great camera. Not sure how much larger the lcd are going to get on the slrs. 3inch is pretty huge. One of the things I noticed with the 40d is the burst rate dramatically goes down the tube when you enable noise reduction. Canon calls it the high ISO noise reduction in the custom function, but upon further reading it is enabled across the entire ISO range. My buffer went from 80 down to 6! Not a big deal for most of us who don't shot sports but still it's annoying. One big improvement is the autofocus in comparasion to the 30d and 20d, The 9 focusing points now are both sensitive to horizontal and vertical lines. The 20/30Ds only the center has the "cross" type focusing point. This is a big deal. The AF is much better and the center is beefed up even more when you use a lens with f/2.8 or faster, the accuracy is improved. I haven't compared the accuracy to my 20d or 30d yet. Overall i like it so far. Canon announces new cameras historically this month (August) , everyone thinks a 5D replacement is due. I think a 40d replacement might be likely as well, the reason being the rebel XSi is 12 megapixel while the 40D is only 10. Not that it will make much difference, but it is still a factor on the market.
