Russo’s Books
Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes
Yesterday I went to the Marketplace to help Chip fix his computer which turned out that it crashed, while I waited for him to get off work one of the things I did was I went to Russo’s Books right next door to his workplace.
I was drawn over to the Science Fiction bookshelf which they only had 2 bookshelves of. I call it the nerd section and so naturally I, a nerd, is drawn there lol. Nearly all the rows on this bookshelf were all Star Wars novels. They even had a novel based on the video game that I have Star Wars The Force Unleashed. I wanted to buy it so bad but I didn’t have any money on me.
They also had the Sookie Stackhouse novels which I so wanted to buy so bad but the collection was like $63 so naturally I wouldn’t have been able to buy them. That’s odd, Russo’s sells them for $63 in store but their website they sell them for $47. Very strange indeed.
What I was really interested in buying (if I had the money) was the 6th Xanth book called Night Mare. They didn’t have a fantasy section or shelf. I didn’t see any Xanth novels. I think I’d be better off buying that on Amazon anyway because I could probably get it for a penny plus shipping.
I’m seriously considering riding my bike there again today but it was such a long ride and it’s terrifying to be riding with all that traffic. There is a bike lane most of the way there but there is a good stretch of Ming ave. that doesn’t have a bike lane so I have to ride on the sidewalk because the cars are really so close to the curb that it would probably end up killing me lol.
It’s too bad that store isn’t a Barnes and Noble. That is a store that is worth taking risks to get to. This Russo’s Books store was so small, it’s like the size of a mall store. Heck, Chips work place is twice the size of Russo’s, they are renting the wrong space in my opinion. I think the smaller the shop the less merchandise you can carry and that’s why they don’t have a fantasy section.
Oh well, I still have a lot of books in my queue, I’m reading Twilight’s first novel which I’ve only read 1/4 of, I’m about to start chapter 8. When I’m done with that then I have New Moon to read lol. Once I’m finished with that I have the 5th Xanth novel Ogre, Ogre then I need to buy the 6th and then I have the 7th through 9th waiting to be read. Not to mention the 5 books in the Belgariad that have been sitting here for a couple of years waiting to be read. Those are good but difficult to read.
I do have a lot of reading to do. I wouldn’t mind buying a whole bunch of those star wars books but I think I’ll have a lot of time before I can buy any of them because of my long queue I have now. Maybe when I don’t have anything to read then I’ll have another look. Preferably Barnes and Noble next time.
