Russia and Southern Georgia
So one has to wonder if the recent conflict in Georgia is not the start of the cold war that supposed to happen more than 30 years ago? It seems like Russia isn’t willing to listen to the international community and the US and UN are just getting closer and closer to sending troops in. What happens then? To me that is incredibly scary. Another war is something this nation cannot handle - the people are stretched too thin now as is. I know that Russia knows this as well and choose this time to invade because of that. What will be the out cause of this? I don’t really know and nobody does, but I am scared and worried for the safety of the world.

  • this world is becoming scarier and scarier each day..
  • Even with common perception that Russia is an evil side, which is probably true, Georgia launched the airstrike first. It just gives Russian troops a red carpet to get in. Unless we know nothing on the real course of events, that was indeed a stupid step, giving Russia all possible excuses. BTW, Georgian government is getting a significant financial aid from USA. Why did not they consult with their close allies, before opening military actions? Or, they did and got OK from USA?
  • I'd say the US aren't listening to Russia. Do you believe that if the US forces weren't spend to thin the then they would be able to take Russia on? Besides Russia responded to the Georgian attack on South Ossetia not invaded Georgia
