She did it! And changed the boy's name

Angelina Jolie has officialy adopted a 3-year-old Vietnamese boy and decided to change his name from Pham Quang Sang to Pax Thien Jolie (Pax means peace in Latin and Thien means sky in Vietnamese).

Poor boy now that she's changed his name. A 3 year old already knows his name alltight. Every time they call him he'll probably look around confused.

paper work

I have found amazing delicate paper works. They are fantastic! It is absolutely unbelivable how one can cut out such small paper details. I have just tried to make a little ballet dancer, as can be seen on one of the pictures. It turned out to be pretty easy and looks great!

well some people have two names, and they ar switching them:)......then it's unfair that parents give us a name, lots of people hate their names. it's just the way it is, parents give name to their kids

why wrong, so you think britney with all her parties, showing of no underwear, rehabs, hysterics and etc is better?

well I didn't say Britney is ok. I didn't make any comparison.
she is also wrong for whatever she's doing to herself.

This is a child we're talking about. you don't even change the name of a dog once you give him one.
if it was a 2 weeks old baby, maybe, but the child build his whole identity just with his name. Even if his environment is changing, he is not changing his ID. He is still supposed to evolve with it. what would happen if we had to erase our identity everytime we moved to another place??? Think about it.

Plus, they are not respecting the child at all.

what makes you thin they are not respecting a child? why would they adopt him in a first place? and what if he was ok with changing his name?
and why we should have fixed id we didn't pick up even ourself for the rest of our life, it's such a natural thing to shorten the names or change them, or transform them. i think it's not a big deal after all she didn't name piece of a vietnamese crap

My ancestors changed their last name (not the first name) less than 100 years ago and I cannot imagine my identity having the old name... Truth is that we give names to children because we need to call them somehow and is true that children build their identity around their name too. Personally I believe that the poor child is going to go through such a cultural shock after his adoption that the name change will be the least of his problems. On the other hand, he will be better off with Jolie than living in under poverty conditions with a possibility never to reach 20 years old. I also like to believe that the name change has a symbolic character around which I would love to built my identity!
