The Prosperity Bank Cuero banking center has a new home. Late last month, the bank and its eight employees moved into a newly constructed 4,652-square foot building on Church Street directly behind its previous location on Esplanade Street. A state historical marker adorns the building that Prosperity Bank vacated, once the home of the Buchel Bank founded in 1873.
“The new building is more convenient with a lot of parking spaces. It’s also more efficient to better serve our customers,” said Phyllis Lapp, president of the Cuero center since 2004.
The new facility includes four drive-through lanes, including a truck lane, and an ATM, Lapp said. Inside are three teller stations, a large lobby, safe deposit box area and office space.
Monday through Thursday drive through hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the lobby is open from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Both inside and outside tellers are available until 6 p.m. on Fridays.
Prosperity Bancshares, Inc., a $6.2 billion, Houston-based regional financial holding company, was formed in 1983. It has 124 full-service banking locations and one loan production office from Kingsville north through Houston, in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and in Austin.
There are 33 banking centers in South Texas. The Cuero bank will celebrate its grand opening from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Festivities will include a ribbon cutting and flag ceremony.
