Good news everyone!
Freackin’ bite my shiny metal ass news – I got an early review copy of the Futurama Movie! Futurama fans (myself included) will be very happy to hear this. November 27 is the date when they are going to release the Futurama Movie! And I’ve got first-hand impressions right here.
It's called Futurama: Bender's Big Score. The title is a parody of Shaft's Big Score. The movie is written by Ken Keeler, based on a story by Ken Keeler & David X. Cohen, directed by Dwayne Carey-Hill. The whole thing is about one and a half hours long.
The plot picks up after two years after the last episode was aired with Professor Farnsworth telling everyone that they have been fired two years ago. Then he gets a call from The Box (Fox?) Network telling him they were renewed. Of course, the _network_ gets bashed for cancelling the show during the entire movie. Though it’s crystal clear that the show has fresh blood in its veins, while sticking with the good old Futurama humor. So the Planet Express gets a new mission, they have to make a delivery to Nudist planet and that's where the main plot starts to unveil.

The Planet Express crew get scammed online after giving away their email addresses in a survey. First naked aliens scam the Professor and take over his company. Then they start scamming everyone else and take over the Earth. Also Hermes gets his head chopped off and now spends most of the episode in the jar, while his wife reveals the slut within. Leela meets an attractive boyfriend (that plays a major role in the plot). Bender gets a virus from a spam (porn?) letter and is under control of the scammers. Eventually the aliens discover a weird tattoo on Fry’s butt that contains a binary code. This code opens up a time portal that can send you to any time. So the scammers send Bender to the past to steal all the valuables from Earth's past. When they managed to steal everything, Fry manages to open the portal and go to the year 2000. Bender goes after him with cruel intentions.
/END SPOILERS
The story, while it seems to be a bit too twisted and freackin’ awesome – wraps it all up rather nicely. Much like the last episode of Season 5, it’s all about the love between Fry and Leela, with everything else just there for the fun of it. And honestly, even if you’re not that big on Futurama, this is one of the better animated movies in years that will get you hooked up momentarily. You will want to explore the whole universe of the show, and will watch all 5 seasons. The Futurama crew is now working on a series of Futurama movies. Matt Groening, the creator of Futurama said they are going to try to divide them into episodes. Whether they are going to make it a full-length straight-to-DVD’s or air episodes is not really important. The important thing is - Futurama is back! Bite my shiny metal ass!
