The Hotel Marqués de Riscal is the newest design created by Frank O. Gehry. Located in Alava, Spain, this ribbon like construction is the roof of a luxury hotel which boasts 43 modern suites. This amazing building is well renown in the area for its remarkably unique architecture which is most impressive from the rear angle of the building.
The team of Ofis Arhitekti won a national design competition for their design of two apartment buildings each containing 30 units of varying size ranging from studios to three-bedrooms. Ofis wrapped sunshades in the form of colorful canvas awnings around the blocks balconies. According to wikipedia such clouds form in the winter polar stratosphere at 50,000–80,000 ft at very low temperatures and are very rare. Because there clouds are so high they receive sunlight from below the horizon and reflect it before dawn or after dusk.
