Here is a movie about the Chernobyl Disaster. I should warn you it's as depressive as impressive.
Emma Watson, the famous Hermione Granger, again expressed her determination of leaving the Harry Potter project. It has happened before but somehow all quitened up because of large sums of money, offered to the young actress. Rumours say that Watson wants to quit because of her excessive popularity, which disturbs her in everyday life. Still, the actress has no other filming projects. If Watson leaves the project, Harry Potter movies will face serious problems, because the fans unwillingly accept changes in casting.
For about $70, clients at Ada Barak's spa in northern Israel can add a wild twist to their treatment by having six non-venomous but very lively serpents slither and hiss a path across their aching muscles and stiff joints.Barak uses California and Florida king snakes, corn snakes and milk snakes in her treatments, which she said were inspired by her belief that once people get over any initial misgivings, they find physical contact with the creatures to be soothing.
I personally visited the Chernobyl area for two days in June 2006 with a friend and former resident of Pripyat. We toured the Chernobyl Plant (including the Reactor 4 control room), several of the abandoned villages, and Pripyat. I have posted a photo journal of my trip at:
I was a little kid when the accident happened and even though I'm not from Ukraine but from Greece, which is not that far away, I have to say that the period of the accident was one of my worst periods of my childhood. The depression alone that was all around the place...when you're child you don't understand what is going on but you deeply feel the bad energy...
as for your comment below - i've also heard that. the bad thing is that shield, sarcofagus, they built upon the broken generator, is leaking now.
it needs to be rebuilt but it costs a billion dollars.
if sarcofagus falls, all nuclear dust will spread to the atmosphere again. terrible :(
hm...i was only two back then..and i was much closer, but i don't remember anything.
but my bf says that his grandma was sunbathing that day...and she died from cancer some years later.
of course it can't be proven that this was the direct cause.
Cancer related deaths have grown more and more in northern Greece since the incident. And more children are born with defections, missing parts and other bad things... I remember everybody in Greece was praying for the wind not to go south and not to rain, everybody was buying concentrated milk, we said good buy to fresh milk and vegetables...
terrible :(
