The popular scyfy film district 9 offended the Nigerian government - they say the film denigrates the image of the country.
In the film a gand of Nigerians were doing all things you'd expect a gang to do - that is illegal weapon trade, prostitution and eating the aliens to get their power and use their weapons. So nothing special there. However, according the Nigerian government the film portrays Nigerians as cannibals, criminals and prostitutes and on the upside the gang leader shares the name with the Nigerian former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
It appears the Nigerian government thinks very highly of their country. Well, I have friends working in Nigeria and they say the reality is much worse than the film portrays. Bodyguards are mandatory if you want to go somewhere.
