News And Announcements For August

Wow, the first of August already? July just flew by – I must have been having some fun, eh?

Let’s talk about the August line up for the BWW Featured Items section. For those of you who are new to Blogs With Wings every month I feature my top Entrecard dropper, top blog commentator and my current Blog Carnival host in the featured items section at the top right of my blog, just below the header image.

Top Entrecard Dropper

The top Entrecard dropper for this past month was Jamie from Crimson Sparkle. That’s two months in a row that she has been the top dropper and I want thank her for her consistent patronage to my Entrecard widget. She never misses a day!

Esteemed Blog Carnival Host

Now, the last spot is for my current Blog Carnival host and that won’t change until tomorrow when the next edition of the Blogs With Wings Blog Carnival will be announced. I’m very excited about this next edition and I think many of you will be eager to submit a post. But you will have to wait until tomorrow for the scheduled announcement to learn more. So make sure you check back tomorrow for all the juicy details!

So, until tomorrow, Zoey from Good Goog will be featured in the Carnival host’s spot. And she deserved to be featured there for the past month, becuase of all the hard work she’s put into hosting this upcoming edition of the Blogs With Wings Blog Carnival.

You might remember Zoey from the great post she wrote here on BWW back in June. It was entitled Getting Personal Like a Professional and was a very insightful look at the ups and downs of personal blogging. Zoey has been a pleasure to work with and I’m planning on roping her into more projects in the coming months. Don’t hide Zoey, they’re going to be fun!

Today I added something new to Blogs With Wings, a form that allows visitors the opportunity to directly submit a guest blog post. It means that anyone who wants to submit a guest post need not contact me by email first to see if I am interested. This cuts down on the amount of email that I have to deal with and respond to. I don’t know how you would go about this with other blogging platforms, but in WordPress you can use a plugin to set up your guest post page, complete with guest blog post submission form. Akismet Gives Me A Lesson In Customer Service
