My Recent Gmail experience

Share

My Recent Gmail experience Two days back I got an alert from GMAIL saying that my allocated space is soon going to be finished. It surprised me because my usage of email crossed 7GB :) Nevertheless I cannot delete those emails since I need them. Since my gmail is a little google for me...
Now i am left with two options either I have to purchase extra space by google or download them to my desktop.
The extra space however was cheap which was $5/year for 20 GB. Thinking of purchasing it... any advices??
My Recent Gmail experience
However for a safer side, I decided to download them to my laptop. So i downloaded Thunderbird. Why Thunderbird?? two reasons.. 1. it is free 2. It can organize messages in threading way just as the way Gmail does. Organizing by subject as thread is a feature that use very much in gmail.
This is when I was taken by a new surprise when i started downloading my mails into my laptop. It started downloading all the mails that I have deleted earlier #$$%%@@. These mails are not even in my trash.. so unique. Then i wondered if Google was counting the space for these deleted ones also. Should mail this query to gmail... Though it irritated me a bit, found some of my old useful mails. However after the process went on for a day, gmail does not allow me to download any more. Then after a but of googling I found out that gmail locks the account for 24 hours if the downloaded data is high or the download rate is more.. so annoying.. Should try again after a day before my account gets full...
Anybody faced such experience before?
