With Mother's Day right around the corner, I'd like to take a moment to not only commend those women doing their job right (and condemn those that should never have had kids in the first place), but also to give a cybershout to my mother.
My mom, born during the depression, passed away a few years also from the horrible disease ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
All her life, my mom was a really go-getter. She didn't believe in just sitting on your butt when there were things to be done. She's take on anything from household repairs, to Brownies, to Girl Scouts, and a whole family of six (plus two dogs) on our holiday camping trips.
For her to have died in such a horrible fashion is, to this day, unbelievable. But it happened.
She is missed more than she could ever have imagined or know.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
