United We Stand Divided We Are

Some time ago (1998) at the University of Moscow in Russia Professor Igor Panarin predicted that the United States would collapse and disintegrate into petty states by the summer of 2010. He theorized that the contiguous 48 states would devolve into three or four separate nations and Alaska would revert to Russian control. The professor was wrong; but only as to the time frame. Our once great nation is on the verge of breaking up. We are no longer a union. We no longer participate in national problem solving with a united front. The citizens of the United States no longer

    Creating An Underground Economy

During this economic downturn many government entities are struggling to balance their budgets. Adding to the downturn in business is the increase in the underground economy also known as the shadow economy or black market. The underground or shadow economy is comprised of all economic transactions that are not in some way reported and tracked in the official economy. This includes not reporting income or sales tax which impacts the economy from the federal to the local level. It also included garage sales, private sale of second hand items, wages paid in cash and

Forget The University Have A Baby Instead

My friends and I are as angry as one can get with the advice given to our daughters by high school counselors. These so called counselors gave our daughters some of the worst advice ever. While in high school they told our daughters not to have sex. They also insisted that they go to some rather expensive universities. They strongly suggested, insisted really, that they get a college degree. What a bunch of garbage!! We should sue these counselors because they haven’t a clue. They drilled it into our daughters that having a baby would destroy their lives.

    Abortion: A Religious Issue

The abortion issue is coming to the forefront yet again. The question of abortion is a religious one. It is not a question of law. It is not a question of right or wrong. It is not an issue that can be solved simply by passing a law. It is basically a question of beliefs. Planned Parenthood Federation of America is again under siege by the political far right. Elements of the conservative religious right have made public a candid video of Planned Parenthood health care professionals counseling undercover operatives hired by anti abortion activists. The operatives

    Democracy: A Failing Experiment

From the beginning of time man has sought to place himself above his fellow man. To this end he has established so called classes of people. Some people have a need to consider themselves better than others. Sometimes by force, sometimes by trickery, people have found ways to impose their will and beliefs upon those that are less skilled at force or trickery. In the beginning the only rule was the law of the jungle: survival of the fittest. Only the highly skilled at force or trickery survived at the top. The law of the jungle, although thinly veiled, still prevails.

    Modern Day Slavery

The debate over illegal immigration is again a hot topic. The Republicans, emboldened by their gains in Arizona, are moving to not only strengthen the immigration laws but are working hard to change the Constitution of the United States of America with regard to immigration. What the public does not realize is that the elected officials pushing for this drastic change are once again only seeking to benefit the economic standing of the ruling elite. The real purpose of the reform is to seek ways to keep the cheap labor while minimizing any benefits the illegals may have.

    Congress Is Grandstanding

The new congress has been sworn in and the newly elected politicians are quick to show just how disconnected from reality they really are. Instead of working on the mundane solvable problems that plague the United States they waste our time and resources on grandstanding. Grandstanding and offering “off the wall” solutions is not what the American public elected them to do. We need solutions not unworkable grandstanding. We need everyday practical solutions to routine everyday problems. Not every problem requires a major state of the art solution. Not all math

    Stupid Does As Stupid Is

Or the American public elects stupid. Last month the American public sent a huge mandate to the U. S. Congress. No more earmarks, no more spending like Mexican drug cartel leaders! Balance the federal budget. The candidates put on a dog and pony show and promised to cut spending and the voters ate it up. Some candidates even promised to do away with earmarks which is funding for special projects benefiting only the special supporters in the district of the congressman proposing the earmark. And now, not even two months after the general election, a federal budget

Wanted: Rich Islamic Terrorist to Immigrate to United States

The United States is handing out green cards left and right. The only requirement is that you be from a traditionally Islamic Country. The United States imposes very little requirements on citizens of Mid-eastern countries applying for a visa to the United States. The terrorist that hi-jacked the air planes on 9/11 were in this country legally. On the other hand, Mexicans desiring a visa to enter the United States must exhibit and prove up a long list of documents. The documents list includes but is not limited to: birth certificate, bank accounts, list of real property

More On Illegal Immigration (SB 1070)

The Judge has made a ruling on the legality of SB 1070 and a lot of people are unhappy. The Judge could have ruled a number of different ways and still a lot of people would have been disappointed. Although I am not in favor of illegal immigration I firmly believe that immigration laws are the purview of the federal government. If we follow that doctrine then the Arizona law (SB 1070) as passed cannot stand. If SB 1070 were allowed to stand, then we could possibly end up with a set of fifty different immigration laws, one set for each state. This would in effect reduce our federal government
