Lightway Blinds

This is something completely new. These blinds were designed by Damian Savio and its a brilliant combination of 2 technologies. I'll explain what is so amazing about these blinds. Lightway uses organic OLED's and advanced transparent Photovoltaic Nanoscale technology which allows them to absorb solar energy and then use it during the night to illuminate the room. They are also transparent so no sun light will be blocked.

I have two concerns about using this invention:
1. I would estimate the price is quite high.
2. How can you adjust the illumination level? If somebody is having difficulties to sleep with lights on, it might be an issue.

They don't give the price but it's definitely useful. It can cut the power consumption of cities by 22% I think it's alot.
You can just open the blind and the light will go out :)

Agree, that invention is interesting. When the idea is clearly elaborated, it might be a breakthrough.
BTW, Cree are our customers. They develop leds-based lamps to replace regular bulbs. I just learned from my engineer, that they replace all the lights on their parking lot (Durham, NC) with LED's. And, this is just beginning. As our equipment is used for LED development, I see a revival of this industry. Soon, LED will be used for many applications at home, car, etc.

2. there doesn't seem to be a switch or anything that could turn the blinds off. I guess you need more blinds to cover the illuminating blinds ^^
