Logisys KB208BK is situated somewhat between ‘bargain’ keyboards and ‘mid-range’. At $30, it’s not the cheapest board out there. The most obvious step up is the 2 colors of illumination. Blue or Red backlighting, and brightness control. This is another one of those keyboards with multi-media and internet hot-keys built into it. Whether that’s useful or annoying depends on your personal style. The one aspect I would have to consider is keyboard size. At almost 20 inches long, the extra keys give it a larger footprint. On the other hand, it’s slimline, so should easily fit into an under-desk keyboard tray. The KB208Bk comes with a built-on wrist rest, and a dial-design volume control.

The large Enter and Backspace keys are a nice touch. That’s a nice touch, especially the backspace key, because it isn’t as easy to find by touch as the ‘normal’ keys are. One of the best features is the cord. It comes with USB and PS2 plugs, but the length is what I like. 7 feet… Now THAT’s a proper length!

There aren’t many customer reviews. 5 rate it highly… 3 rate it low. A fairly typical complaint is the keys being ‘stiff’ to push. If you type with a heavy hand (I know I do… clack/clack/clack) it shouldn’t be a problem, but if you like a soft touch, this probably isn’t the keyboard for you. One person mentioned the brightness control key starting to wear out after only a month.

Final thoughts: For the price, this backlit keyboard has some nice extras. But… for the price, it could be built a bit better. I’m about split down the middle here. It might be worth it, if you want extra features but budget price.
