Suicide attacks have become more common as Taliban militants step up their insurgency against the Afghan government.

In estern Afghanistan the bomber tryed to get to the pedestrian gate, wearing the explosive vest, and detonated it, killed himself, 8 people and wounded 5. There are no NATO casualties among the dead, only 2 Afghan National Policemen and 6 Afghan civilians.

There was also a higher toll in the attack, when a suicide bomber killed himself and 10 more people, by walking and detonating in a crowd just outside the gates of NATO's Forward Operating Base Salerno.
